The DoE Reviewers stated that at our school “A nurturing and inclusive learning environment where the academic focus is matched by equal attention to social emotional development is highly evident.” (Public School Review, March 2020)
We promote high standards of student achievement and ensure progress. Overall, our standards of achievement in reading, writing and numeracy are high compared to all Australian schools.
Usually, our Year 3 students demonstrate high levels of achievement and progress in numeracy when assessed through NAPLAN compared to students who have a similar background. The performance of our Year 5 students when compared to students with a similar background has been of some concern but, in 2019, we saw evidence of our rigorous drive for improvement being reflected in the better performance of Year 5 students.
When compared to students from a similar background, with the exception of 2019 Year 3 NAPLAN data, our students have attained high levels of achievement and progress in reading and writing.
